Renowned cinematographer Ashok Mehta, whose cinematic expertise can be seen in films like Bandit Queen, Mandi, 36 Chowringhee Lane, Utsav, Ram Lakhan, Khalnaayak, Kisna, Gaja Gamini and many more, has been admitted at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
His illness came to the fore during the recording of Raveena Tandon's new chat show Issi Ka Naam Zindagi Hai. The said show had a segment that featured Mehta speaking on a video monitor about his discovery Arjun Rampal, whom he had cast in his directorial debut Moksha.
Commenting on Ashok's condition, a restrained Arjun said that he is aware of Ashok's condition and considers him to be a father-figure. Arjun also added that he feels that Ashok wanted to keep mum about his illness.
Funrahi wishes Ashok Mehta a very speedy recovery.
