Several B-Town folk will be at the French Riviera next month to celebrate Indian cinema's 100th year. However, one Indian feature film -- Monsoon Shootout featuring Tannishtha Chatterjee -- is not only going to be screened but is also up in the award competition category. And the actress is evidently excited about attending the Cannes Film Festival for it.
Co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Asif Kapadia, Amit Kumar has helmed the project. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead and is eligible for the Camera d'Or prize. "This particular award is given to a debutant director's film and this is Amit Kumar's first as a director. Since I've worked with him before where he was assistant director, I'm not at all surprised by this reception. I'm confident that our film will be appreciated," adds the National Award winner.
Even though Tannishtha has been to Cannes before, she's thrilled about the prospect of visiting again in May. "I've been there earlier for Brick Lane back in 2009.
Late time around, it was an awesome experience. You don't get to rub shoulders with so many cinematic talents everyday so it's special. I'm eagerly looking forward to the festival once again," sums up the National School of Drama alumnus.
