BERLIN: Metrodome has acquired U.K. rights and NFP has taken German rights for the Norwegian action comedy Jackpot from sales group TrustNordisk.
The film, directed by Magnus Martens, is described as a tribute to the absurd action universe of Quentin Tarantino and is based on an original story by best-selling Norwegian crime author Jo Nesbo. Nesbo's book Headhunters was recently made into a film starring Askel Hennie, which was a box office smash in Norway and has become the most successful Norwegian-language film outside the territory.
"We're very pleased to be working TrustNordisk again on Jo Nesbo's Jackpot," said Metrodome's head of distribution Jezz Vernon about the acquisition. "It's a cracking piece of genre action that turns the Scandinavian crime thriller on its head."
