After successfully instituting Mirchi Music Awards for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Malayalam industry, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, celebrated the excellence of the Marathi Music Industry. Radio Mirchi unveiled the first ever Mirchi Music Awards Marathi Powered by Indus Health Plus. They recognized and felicitated the crème de la crème talents for their contribution to the Marathi industry between January – December 2012.

Mugdha Ghodse, Shaan, Shreyas Talpade, Pallavi Joshi and many other celebs attended the glittering and power-packed event in Mumbai.

This year, as Bollywood completes 100 glorious years of cinema, let us take you back to the fact that the father of Indian Cinema is Dadasaheb Phalke. His first film, Raja Harishchandra brimmed with Marathi Actors. A fully Marathi crew brought this movie to life. So this year, its fitting to pay tribute to the 100 years of Marathi cinema by awarding the essence of our Movies and Music.

The Marathi jury of the first ever Marathi awards was chaired by none other than noted playback singer, Suresh Wadkar, and headed by the legendary music director, Ashok Patki.
