With moist eyes and bereavement filling their hearts, family and close friends bid adieu to actor Farooq Shaikh who was laid to rest at a burial ground in suburban Andheri on Monday. The 65-year-old actor, known for his boyish charm and gentlemanly mannerisms, died in Dubai on Saturday morning following a heart attack. Farooq began his career in Bollywood with 'Garam Hava' and acted in memorable films like 'Umrao Jaan', 'Chashme Buddoor', 'Shatranj Ke Khiladi', 'Kissi Se Na Kehna', 'Noorie' and others, even though he never abandoned theatre, which was his first love. This year, Farooq acted in 'Listen Amaya', 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Club 60', which was his last released film. He will also be seen in Jacky Bhagnani's upcoming film 'Youngistan'. -- Published on January 1, 2014
