Revolver Rani is out and as Kangana says, the film is really all about 'phaison (fashion), phun (fun) and gun'. Full of stylish shots, funny one-liners and scheming baddies Revolver Rani is clearly dominated by the flamboyant character of Alka Singh, revealing Revoler Rani's a.k.a Kangana Ranaut's dabangg avatar. Revolver Rani is a quirky, kinky, kitchsy, crazily, entertaining ride but mostly for those who like to watch off the cuff cinema. The Action is funky while the music is rustic and Director Sai Kabir goes beyond the script turning out a genre breaker that may not be everyones cup of tea but is surely a milestone for hindi film actresses. Though the film does get sluggish a couple of times, Revolver Rani, the character, does stay with you in your hearts much after you leave the cinema hall. From the sweet and innocent Rani of Queen to the gun-toting Revolver Rani, Kangana Ranaut has definitely established herself as one of the few Bollywood actresses who can pull off any film, any role, any character and that too without the help of an A-list hero. Playing the role of a rogue political leader, a rugged looking Kangana is in full rustic glory as she abuses, romances and shoots her way through Revolver Rani. With the attitude of a female Chulbul Pandey and the dressing sense of a fashion obsessed Bandit Queen, Kangana shines in a role few actresses in Bollywood can portray. Vir Das Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Zeeshan Qadri, Kumud Mishra, Pankaj Saraswat are all extremely good. -- Published on April 26, 2014
