Fans of the parody genre will be happy to hear that Open Road Films has acquired all distribution rights for the sequel to "A Haunted House." The tentatively titled "A Haunted House 2" will begin production this summer with leading man Marlon Wayans set to star and co-write the second film, with partner Rick Alvarez. The movie is aiming for a Winter release in late 2013 or early 2014. Now the original "A Haunted House" was released in January 2013, and opened to $19 mil at the U.S. box-office and has since taken in over $40 million dollars to date. Not bad for a low budget film that cost about $2.5 million to make, with essentially one shooting location. No word on if any other cast members like the lovely Essence Atkins, David Koechner, or the super lovely Nick Swardson will be returning for the second installment. For those of you who can't wait to see it again, you can get "A Haunted House" on DVD, Blu-ray, or digital download in just a few weeks, on April 23rd. So are you ready for the sequel or was one haunting enough for you? -- Published on April 9, 2013
