I've got some exciting news for those of us who think one part hot tub, one part time travel, and a dash of Chevy Chase is the recipe for the best night ever. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM is in early talks for a Hot Tub Time Machine sequel. For those of you who need a refresher, Hot Tub Time Machine followed a group of friends who go back in time after a drunken night in a ski resort hot tub somehow transports them back to 1986. Although the script was silly, the cast was funny and likeable, and Hot Tub Time Machine grossed about 50 mil at the box office in 2010. Little is known about the proposed sequel, but we do know that actor Rob Corddry could be involved in writing the script for the project with director Steve Pink, who is also in talks to direct the movie. As of now, original cast members Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke could possibly reprise their roles and there is no word on whether or not John Cusack or Chevy Chase will be involved. As a girl who loves a good comedy, I was a little disappointed with Hot Tub Time Machine although the film did have a great premise, a super talented cast, and a few laugh out loud moments. That being said, I do hope MGM gives Hot Tub Time Machine a second shot, they've got potential for a cult hit on their hands, and I'd love to see the original cast reunited for a drunken trip to the future, this time around. What do you think, would you see a Hot Tub Time Machine sequel? And if so, what year should the cast travel to? Share your thoughts below. -- Published on January 17, 2013
